Ride like a girl.
The first all-girls NICA mountain bike team in Texas. We ride, train and race together in San Antonio, and we’re open to girls in 5th through 12th grade. No experience needed.
Texas's first all-girls NICA team
Open to grades 5 through 12
No racing experience needed
Racing is always optional
A team built for girls, from the start.
On most co-ed teams, girls are added to a mostly boys roster. We started the Alamo City Femmes so girls would have a space of their own to build skills, confidence and friendships on the bike.
Some of our riders chase podiums at NICA races. Others ride for fun, fitness and their teammates. Both are exactly why we’re here.
How a season works
Practices are Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons, usually at McAllister Park, Leon Creek Greenbelt or LBJ Park.
Sept. 1
Registration opens for the new season.
Nov. 1
Team practices begin. We work on skills, fitness and trail confidence.
February
Texas NICA races begin. Racing is optional, and GRiT rides open the course to girls only.
May-October
End-of-season celebration, off-season Group Rides, non-NICA racing
All she needs is a bike, a helmet and a little curiosity.
The gear
A mountain bike and a helmet. NICA athletes get discounts from several bike brands, and the Texas league runs a loaner bike program. ACF has loaner equipment, too!
The cost
Registration is $360, paid directly to NICA. Scholarships are available, so cost should never be the reason a girl doesn't ride.
The experience
None required. If she can ride a bike, our coaches will teach her the rest at practice.

You don't need to be a racer. We need ride leaders, skills coaches and race-day helpers. Tell us what you're good at and we'll find the right fit.
